Twisting/Compression Falls (aka Poga Falls) are located on the Elk River in the Poga area of Carter County, TN. This is one of the biggest waterfalls in the Northeast TN/Western NC area I have been to. It is absolutely beautiful. It is extremely remote and also the most difficult hike I have ever been on. It is around a 400 foot elevation change in less than half a mile. It is as close to rock climbing as you can get without actually rock climbing. It was well worth it.
